Sannatasah Saniru tames Lim Yin Fun in group stage of Maybank National Circuit Grand Prix Finals
Women’s Singles shuttler Sannatasah Saniru of Malaysia opened her campaign in perfect manner and cleared first hurdle of Maybank National Circuit Grand Prix Finals on December 27, 2012.
She was up against the compatriot player Lim Yin Fun and their encounter lasted for three exhausting sets.
This match was played at the local badminton complex of Alor Setar, Malaysia and it ended with concluding figures of 21-12, 13-21 and 21-15.
The victorious player prevailed in the opening and ending segments of the showdown whereas the opposing shuttler could pocket only the second match point.
In first set of the match, Sannatasah launched a brisk attack and established a decent lead in no time. She bagged many valuable points and made a notable difference on points table.
Though, Lim Yin made a swift progress and narrowed the gap before interval but she could not go with same flow in next couple of rallies.
On the other hand, Sannatasah showed an elevated craft and reinstated her dominance in commendable manner.
She finished first half of the set with a three-point lead and then doubled her total immediately after the one-minute break.
The latter part of game completely belonged to Sannatasah as she did not give her challenger even a single counterattack opportunity and claimed this crucial match point.
She mounted pressure by registering 17-11 margin and then swept the table with an impressive result of 21-12.
In the following game, the inexperienced Malaysian player Lim Yin showed maturity in her craft and turned the tables.
This time she did not repeat previous mistakes and trounced her opponent with a fine blend of power packed smashes and deceiving drop net shots.
She maintained a respectable lead of eight points and finished this segment of the showdown with 21-13 score on the board.
 Third set locked both contenders in a tough competition as they were standing equal with one win each.
They snapped at each other’s heels in the establishing rallies but neither of them could gain a permanent advantage.
Finally, this nerve-racking tussle ended when Sannatasah placed a winning margin of 21-15.
Now her next challenge will be to surpass a compatriot shuttler Lim Chiew Sien in group stage of Maybank National Circuit Grand Prix Finals.
