Sansa scan disk mp3 player

I can't download songs to my mp3 player...I've tried Windows Media Player and Rhapsody...it's like my computer doesn't recognize the fact that the mp3 player is plugged into the usb port...is it my computer or the mp3 player itself?

windows media player will not recognize scandisk sansa e260. In 'my computer' it shows up as an extra removable drive
