Santa Barbara Restaurant "The Fig Tree" ????

Back in the mid 1970's, there was a restaurant in Santa Barbara that I BELIEVE was called the "Fig Tree". It enclosed a huge fig tree and had wallabies (tiny kangaroos) under the tree.

AM I correct in the name of the Restaurant ?

DOES it still exist ? If so, what is it's address, and if not; when and why did it cease to exist ?

Thanks in Advance

  1. If the restaurant you are speaking of - is an IHOP now -- the link below may be what you are searching for.

  2. check  the local  yellow pages  to see if it still exist.  if its listed  IT DOES. If not ..  then blame the state legislators for imposing restrictions on a local business  and the owners moved to a more business friendly state.

  3. It was still there as late at 1995. I believe it's an IHOP now.

It was on State Street and Valerio.
