Santa Barbara to host historic USPA Bombardier Pacific Coast Open
One of the historic and oldest tournaments of America namely USPA Bombardier Pacific Coast Open is going to commence from August 18 and will continue until September 4 in the beautiful fields of Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in California.
Though the Royal Couple have returned back after paying a short visit to the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, the fervour and thrill are still lying in the fields. Polo fans are looking forward to watching some competitive matches on the historic grounds.
The USPA Bombardier Pacific Coast Open was contested for the first time back in 1904 and is considered one of the most historic and famous polo tournaments not only in the United States of America but across the globe.
Few of the world’s best polo pros will grace the colours in the historic champion trophy including veteran Argentinean Adolfo Cambiaso, Jeff Hall and Nic Roldan. Cambiaso the ten goals handicap player and holding a position among the first five in the world
was the MVP of the 2010 USPA Bombardier Pacific Coast Open. He will lead the Lucchese team to defend its title in the crucial event.
The six teams in the in the 20-goal handicap tournament will be Audi, ERG, Grants Farm, Lucchese, Mansour and Piaget. The Audi line-up will be comprised of Marc Ganzi, Sugar Erskine, Gonzalito Pieres and Carlitos Gracida while Scott Wood, Miguelito Torres,
Sebastian Merlos and Paco de Narvaez will be part of the ERG squad.
The Grants Farm is featured with Nic Roldan, Jeff Hall, Andy Busch and Matt Coppola while Lucchese will be comprised of John Muse, Juan Curbelo, Adolfo Cambiaso and Jeff Blake. Ben Soleimani, Jared Sheldon, Sapo Case and Miguel Astrada will be part of Mansour
while Melissa Ganzi, Juan Bollini, Lolo Castagnola and Jason Crowder will be part of Piaget.
The Spokesperson of the Santa Barbara Polo Club while speaking to the media stated that they were tremendously thrilled for organising another edition of the historic tournament. He said, “The USPA Bombardier Pacific Coast Open optimizes our longstanding
tradition of world-class polo in Santa Barbara. We’re extremely excited for this event to get underway and give fans the unique opportunity to witness the best polo players and fastest thoroughbred horses together for one unique competition.”
Under the flag of United States Polo Association (USPA), the world famous tournament will doll up as major celebration of the Santa Barbara Polo Club. The club was founded back in 1911 and base of many of the best events including United States Polo Association
America Cup, USPA Circuit Player's Cup and Pacific Coast Open.
