  1. I'm Spanish, and I'm from Santander. I recommend you coming to Santander. First of all, the weather in Southern Spain is very very hot in Summer, and in the North you can go to the beach too, and I think it's the perfect temperature. And I think it's better to learn Spanish coming to the North, because people in Southern Spain speak a worse Spanish. I'm Spanish, and sometimes, I don`t understand them when they speak.

If you need to know any other thing, you can send me an e-mail if you want.

And,sorry for my English, I know it's a bit rusty!

  2. Okay so I have spent time in Santander during July and it was one of the best experiences ever. The weather is moderate but good enough to swim and yes you will get a tan. The beaches are gorgeous and you can walk everywhere. Awesome parties on the beach at night and people are really friendly! As for Malaga it is deathly hot and a much bigger city than Santander. If you want to learn Spanish do not start in Malaga or it will be very difficult for you because in the south of Spain they apocopate (shorten) their words and use alot of slang. I'd go with Santander anyday of the week.
