Santo Condorelli captures Men’s 50m freestyle gold medal – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Santo Y Condorelli of BSS-FL captured gold medal of the Men’s 50m freestyle on final day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 17-year-old Condorelli dictate terms to his opponents in the shortest freestyle discipline as he proved his eligibility for gold medal of the event.
He went full rampant in the single lap discipline and cruised his way towards the finishing wall for gold medal by posting a time of 23.80 seconds.
His gold winning effort remained 0.16 seconds faster from Bradley T deBorde of PA-FL, who followed him on the victory stand for silver medal by submitting a time of 23.96 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Ian D Apple of BSS-FL, who remained 0.09 seconds apart and proved his mettle for bronze medal by reporting a time of 24.05 seconds.
The third position holder was chased by Trice T Bailey of NOLE-FL, who was only 0.05 seconds away from overpowering the bronze medallist and settled on the finishing end as fourth position holder with the timing of 24.10 seconds.
The 20-year-old Bailey was chased by Ryan F Murphy of BSS-FL who was 0.20 seconds apart and hit the finishing wall for fifth position by producing a time of 24.30 seconds.
Following that, the crowd witnessed alluring efforts of Wesley Olmsted of HTA-FL, who stayed 0.10 seconds apart and secured sixth finest spot of the race by clocking a time of 24.40 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was obtained by Caeleb Dressel of BSS-FL, who stayed only 0.04 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing end with the timing of 24.44 seconds.
Similarly, Dressel was chased by James E Turner of FLOR-FL, who was only 0.02 seconds slower from his former finisher and posted a time of 24.46 seconds for eighth position.
The championship concluded after the completion of all scheduled events in Men and Women’s corner whereas the crowd acknowledged gruelling efforts of all participants in the 50m discipline. Furthermore, the position holders were awarded medals and accolades
for their notable efforts at the prize ceremony.
