Brazilian giants Santos have confirmed that they are looking to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-Fucile-c19163 on-loan but revealed that the prospective deal had nothing to do with Danilo’s departure to Estadio do Dragao.
The Santástico agreed to sell one of their most prized players, Danilo, to FC Porto during the summer in a deal worth nearly €13 million. However according to the agreement, the youngster was to arrive in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 after the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Muricy Ramalho’s men kept their end of the bargain and let the player duly leave when the time came. However the Portistas haven’t been able to pay all the payments for the transfer and thus a dispute between the two has arisen in the past few weeks.
As Danilo was the starting right-back at the helm, his exit has left the club short of options at the back and they have allegedly turned their attention towards FC Porto’s Jorge Fucile.
The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in Portugal and the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the last couple of months.
As he is definitely going to be leaving the club, Santos have expressed an interest in acquiring him.
Fucile should also be willing to make the switch back to South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390, as he faces a difficult task in cementing his place at FC Porto and now that Danilo has arrived, chances are likely to be even more limited for the former Liverpool Montevideo man.
Reports have also suggested that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446 will only send them if Jorge Fucile joins them on loan this winter.
However the club’s vice-president has waived away all the rumours and said that although his team were interested in the player, they had not demanded a temporary move for him due to Porto’s delay in payments.
"Fucile's name is one of those we are considering, he has earned praise, but his arrival has nothing to do with the problem we have with Porto right now.”
He also spoke about the payment problem and said that he was negotiating with the Dragons in order to draw up a solution as soon as possible.
"About Danilo, we are talking to Porto to try to solve this problem,” Odilio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigues-c31508 Filho was quoted as saying.
With Jorge Fucile clearly unwanted at Porto, he should be up for sale this winter. And the club will be able to improve their relations with Santos and perhaps even get an extension on their payments, if they loan him out to the Brazilian outfit.
