Brazilian side Santos have gone on to deny reports claiming that they are interested in landing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 from Chelsea.
The thirty two year old player, who was a part of the Blues first team until last season, has been left on the sidelines by the club for the current season.
The player was linked with a move to Sao http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431 in the summer transfer, but a move failed to materialize between the two teams.
Despite the manager at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532 admitting that Malouda is a player who could make a big impact at the club, the vice president of the club has gone on to constantly claim that the team is not looking to sing him.
The club’s manager is reported to have said: "Malouda is a great player, a classic player that knows how to dictate tempo, he would be very interesting."Besides, he has a lot of experience and has played for big clubs in Europe".
Despite those words made by the manager, which clearly indicate that he is looking to make a move for the player in the near future, the club’s board has moved in and made it clear that they have no plans to make a move for the French player.
"We did have talks with Malouda a few months ago, but he is not in our plans anymore," stated Rodriguez.
"We are not negotiating with Malouda, we have other priorities. We understand he is a great player but we didn't make any new offer."
At the moment, Malouda is surplus to requirements at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. If the player is very lucky then he is going to go on and feature in a couple of Carling Cup games for the team at best.
Based on this potential, it is safer for the player to opt to make a move out of the Stamford Bridge, in search of first team football.
With the player not getting any younger, it would be rather foolish of him to try and fight for a spot in the Chelsea squad.
Nonetheless, it is now a wait to see just where Malouda ends up in the coming months.
