Santos file Complaint to FIFA against Benfica over defender Danilo– Portuguese Primeira Liga update
Santos are looking to file a complaint against Portuguese giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SL-Benfica-c40542 with Football’s governing body, FIFA, for the Eagles’ alleged pursuit of defender Danilo.
The Lisbon outfit are looking to add new recruits to their squad as a backup to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Coentrao. But their bid to sign the coveted starlet has come to halt, as Santos are looking to report their unauthorized interest.
"No offer has been made to Santos. We have been hearing many news about interest from the Portuguese club, and it is even speculated that the foundations to an agreement with the player have been laid."

"If that is confirmed, we will file a complaint to Fifa because there is lack of ethics on Benfica's part, if they are acting in such a way.”

"There are other clubs who have already contacted Santos and acted in an ethical way. Santos has no interest in selling Danilo, but if the sale does happen, it will certainly not be to Benfica," said Santos President http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pedro-c29582 Luiz.
The Brazilian U-20 International started his career with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/América-c38391 (MG), before moving up the pecking order and eventually making his debut for the first team in the 2009 state championship.
He helped the Rabbits gain promotion to the 2nd Division of Brazilian Football but Santos convinced him to sign for them before he could play in Serie B.
Although Danilo has been overshadowed by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639 at Vila Belmiro, his performances have been excellent for the Santastics and he has managed to find the back of the net 4 times in just 26 appearances, a very respectable return for a player
who plays mostly as a right-back but on occasion as a midfielder.
It is ironic that Benfica were only recently contemplating of reporting Los Blancos desire to sign Fabio Coentrao to FIFA and now find themselves in a similar position to Madrid’s. But a similar result can be expected, as playing for a top European
side always proves to be too tempting for any player.
