Santos striker Neymar revealed he was happy at the Brazilian outfit, hinting that he could turn down a move to Chelsea or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid.
The 19-year-old has been heavily linked to a move to English Premier League giants Chelsea and La Liga side Real Madrid in the summer.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international is contracted to Santos until the end of the 2014 season and hinted that he could be staying with the club until then.
Neymar said while speaking to reporters:
“I have a contract with Santos and intend to continue.
I am very happy because I'm getting goals.”
Neymar has been linked to the London side since last summer, with the youngster rejecting a £32 million move.
Since then he has admitted his desire to play European football and live in London, which fuelled rumours of a move to Chelsea.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 and said he would decide his future after the tournament.
He continued:
“I do not know if Santos will go out to the world, but now we must stay focused on the games [ahead].”
Chelsea are reportedly willing to increase their original bid of £28 million to £30 million in order to bring the 19-year-old to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Even the increased amount does not seem to be sufficient for Neymar’s agent, who claimed the Blues would have to spend at least £40 million for the Brazilian forward.
Neymar’s agent said:
“Last year Santos received an offer of £32m from Chelsea and it was rejected - now he would not leave for less than £41m.”
Chelsea have been known to splash their cash, the most recent example spending £50 million on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, it seems highly unlikely they will be willing to spend that much on Neymar.
While Neymar has emerged as one of the most exciting young players over the last season, he does not have enough experience under his belt.
He has just gone on to finish his third season with Santos as a senior player and has only made five appearances for the Brazil national team.
While he has managed to prove himself in that short while, scoring three goals in those four appearances, he is not worth £40 million.
The future of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672 will play a big role in the Blues pursuit of Neymar.
So far Drogba has refused to a new contract Chelsea offered, which means he could be leaving the London club.
That would leave a spot open for another striker at Stamford Bridge, which could be Neymar and/or Lukaku.
So far Chelsea are more determined to bring in the Brazilian striker as compared to the 18-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 international.
It remains to be seen if Neymar will go through with the move and whether or not Chelsea will agree on the astronomical transfer fee.
