Santos on the brink of signing Pele to help him play in Club World Cup
Brazilian side Santos are on the brink of completing a sensational deal which would see Brazilian legend Pele join the squad.
The legend has been looking to make a move to the club, in order to try and make a record number of appearances and score a record number of goals in the Club World Cup, but so far the move had been stalling. However, with the seventy year old now having
agreed to train with the club, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before he joins up with the team.
Santos representatives have made the club’s desire to land the player no secret and have been edging the form Brazilian hero to link up with the side, before they travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Japan-c2928. Despite all the hype surrounding his potential move back to having a career
on the pitch, Pele has been largely reluctant to agree terms with the club.
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-c5280 de Oliveira Ribeiro said.
"I have talked to [coach] Muricy [Ramalho]. Now the only stumbling block is Pele. He would be registered with the number 10 shirt," the executive continued.
Santos has already won the trophy on two occasions with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532, after having helped the Brazilian club to victory in 1962 and 1963 and with everyone hoping to see him take that tally to three, it is now a wait to see just what Pele decides to do.
Despite it sounding a little unreasonable for someone of the age of Pele to return to football, it is very honourable on the clubs behalf to be offering him such a massive opportunity. Despite Pele only being guaranteed two or three minutes of football per
game, it is still more football than he would have ever imagined of playing once he called it quits on his career.
