Santos President, Luiz Alfaro de Oliveira Ribeiro, has stated his desire to keep the prized starlet, Ganso, despite the player wanting a move to another club.
Several of Europe’s top clubs are battling it out for the player’s signatures and A.C Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are on top of the list. Concerned with the player’s links with other clubs, Santos opened discussions with the player about a new deal in October 2010
but they still could not reach a conclusion.
Ganso is not satisfied with the 40 million Pounds release clause the club wants to put in his contract and has decided against signing a new deal.
Ribeiro is planning to hold talks with the player next week and is hopeful of reaching a compromise but he is still adamant on his stance that he will not raise the offer.
"We do not have more to offer, we made the best proposal possible for him. But I am going to raise the subject with the board of directors this week so we can talk to him," said Ribeiro
The Brazilian International has scored 26 goals in 110 appearances for the club and has been tipped as the next ‘Kaka’ of Brazilian football.
Spurs want Damiao
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Sandro, has revealed that the club wants to sign Internacional striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leandro-c21796 Damiao.
Damiao has established himself as one of the most exciting strikers on the continent and has been linked with several of the top European clubs. The 21-year-old has scored 22 goals in 24 appearances for the club and has even won a Brazilian national team
cap for himself.
Sandro revealed that his club directors have asked him about the striker and he has recommended them that he will be a huge hit at White Hart Lane if he is signed.
"The directors always talks to me about Brazilian players. They asked me about Leandro Damiao and I told them he's a fantastic guy of high quality. Hopefully we will knock on the door of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573] very soon.” Sandro said.
The 22-year-old believes that Damiao is a strong athlete and has the perfect built to play in the English Premier League.
