Brazilian prodigy, Neymar, can be labelled as one of the most erratic and smug footballer of this generation. After the Santos bred player snubbed Chelsea’s bid last season, the striker is now eager to join their ranks this summer, declaring it in the media.
In a recent press release, the 19-year-old La Celeste international striker told the media that he was ready to travel from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 to England.
This has confounded many analysts as earlier reports suggested that the starlet had refused to join the football powerhouse in London because he was not ready to make a big move.
As a matter of fact, the English outfit had been engaged in negotiations with the youngster’s agent for months last summer. After intense meetings at table with the player’s club, Santos, an offer was finally presented for Neymar but the young Brazilian
refused to sign the contract, saying that he was not ready for a big change.
Now, just 12 months after he snubbed the offer from Chelsea, Neymar wants the English Premier League outfit to make another offer to him. There has been no response from Chelsea as yet but it is obvious that Stamford Bridge’s officials will be stunned by
the young player’s move.
In a press release, Neymar stated that the summer of 2010 was in the past. He also admitted that previously Chelsea was eager to acquire his services but he couldn’t predict their response now.
Nonetheless the star made it clear that he wanted a future in Europe and would prefer if it was at the West London club.
The striker certainly has the talent to play for a top notch club. He has also made 3 international appearances and scored 3 goals for Brazil.
His talents are well appreciated in South America but his performance and adaptation to the European style of football is still unpredictable.
While talking to the media, Neymar explained the Chelsea saga, “I was very happy about Chelsea's interest because it is a club every player would like to play for, but at that moment the right decision was to stay at Santos”.
He further told the media that all that had changed now and he wanted to move on.
He articulated, “To play in Europe is my dream. I was very proud of Chelsea's interest and I hope to keep playing well so that this proposal can happen again. I know about these teams; Chelsea, Manchester - to play for them are the dreams of all players.
I know about players in England - Drogba, Lampard, Gerrard - these are very good players”.
