Sanyo 6100 dvd player-disc tray automatically.... My Sanyo DVD-6100 dvd player's dvd tray will not

My Sanyo DVD-6100 dvd player's dvd tray will not stay shutwhether i put in a dvd disc or not. it opens and stays open unless i turn off the power immediately after i shut the tray. also the error message "disc error" appears right after you shut the tray with or without a disc installed.
