Sanyo TV will not turn on, just clicks.?

I bought this TV at a pawn shop really cheaply and when I first got it, it was fine. It did however have the issue of sometimes not turning on, but just clicking. So if rocked the TV around on it's stand, it would usually start to work. I have recently moved and since then the TV has gotten worse. It will turn on but all of a sudden a few minutes later, a very loud noise would come out of the speakers, the picture would get distorted and it would turn off. After that, I had to hit the TV really hard on top for it to turn back on again. I am familiar with electronics so I decided to flip my TV over to get inside it and take a look. I wasn't able to see anything wrong so I put it back together (all I did was take the back cover off) and put it back on it's stand. Now, it is doing the same clicking thing but it will not turn on, even if I punch it (lol). What could be wrong?

  1. Your description fits exactly what happens when you have one or more bad solder joints, probably in line amp circuits or possibly power supply , it needs some one who is competent with a small soldering iron to resolder  the joints on the line amp transformer ! ( just look for the larger components .You may get lucky !

    Cheers Pete

  2. You need a new engine or light.

  3. I would recommend not buying from a pawn shop because they probably don't have background info on th product, and warranty's.

The light is probably out I would go to best buy or radio shack

    The DLP light cost $300.00

    Led light cost $600.00

If old tv they don't make lights for ,I would get a new one
