How close are the nearset beaches in Sao Paulo

Santos (69km) and Guarujá, but the better ones are at Ubatuba and Ilha do Mel (a bit more south in Paraná)

The north coast of São Paulo is lined with great beaches. One popular spot is Maresias.

If you head a bit futher, just across the Rio state line, there's the colonial town of Paraty, also surrounded by beaches. One interesting out of the way spot, reached only on foot or by boat, is the Saco do Mamanguá.

The closest beach driving from SP is:

Santos

and Gurauja

around 40 minutes driving

If you want something more "cool" you can drive up to the north litoral to places as:

Maresias

Jureia (Barra do Una is my top favorite back in BR)
