I have 8 hour layover in Sao Paulo onroute to Rio. Is it worth my time to venture into the city for a few hours? Is Sao Paulo worth spending a few days as well as RIO?

Would Rio be better to spend time in? thanks

  1. If you have to choose one or the other (tough!), I would definitely go with Rio. Sao Paolo is a great city but Rio is beautiful and is what most people think of when they think of Brazil. The beaches, the big Jesus statue, Ipanema, Carnaval - it just doesn't get much better than Rio.

Is it worth going into the city during a layover? Sure. But Sao Paolo is one of the largest cities in the world so make sure you have a plan and can in and out in time for your next flight.

    Have fun.

  2. I think both Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro are both good cities. However, Rio is definitely the most visited city in not just Brazil but South America as well. Sao Paulo is also an interesting spot as it provides a unique array of history, culture and people. Sao Paulo has some of the cheapest bargains across Brazil. Sao Paulo is actually the largest city in not just Brazil but across the Southern Hemisphere. This city has the largest population of people in Brazil and the world. Sao Paulo is home to several ethnicities and has the largest Japanese population outside Japan. So, don't miss the opportunity of spendin your time in not just one but two cities in Brazil.

Additionally, it would add towards your experience by travelling to so many new destinations. Brazil is a beautiful and very large country. Therefore, don't miss the chance of visiting Sao Paulo. All the best on your visit to Brazil and Sao Paoulo!
