Saqlain Mushtaq comes out in support of Saeed Ajmal – Cricket News Update
The legendary Pakistani off-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saqlain-Mushtaq-c88743, has come out in support of Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal, and expressed that the bowling action of the off-spinner is absolutely fine and dismissed the claims of the British media.
Ajmal was always considered a threat by the English team for the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE). The Pakistani off-spinner lived up to the billing in the first Test of the series at Dubai as he picked up 10 scalps in the match,
which included 7 wickets on the very first day of the Test.
However, the former English fast bowler, Bob Willis raised some question marks over the legitimacy of Ajmal’s bowling action, which was given a lot of hype in the British media.
Saqlain, who himself was an off-spinner for Pakistan, feels that the English media always tries to put pressure on the opposing teams by using such tactics. The former cricketer believes that Willis is not in a position to give such comments as this is the
job of the cricketing officials and if there was something wrong with Ajmal’s bowling action, he would never have played so much international cricket all around the world.

Saqlain can be credited for making the art of off-spin special again by inventing the ‘doosra’, and the cricketer feels that it was a blessing of the Almighty on him as it was the answer of his regular prayers.
“The Doosra was a blessing for me. It was all my prayers answered in one. I used to ask the Almighty to give me something special, something that was unique and the Almighty answered my prayers and gave me the ability to bowl the Doosra,” he added.
The second Test between the two countries has started today at Abu Dhabi and all eyes will be on Ajmal to see if he can make the same impact as the last Test.
