Saqlain Mushtaq feels that playing for Pakistan was a special time of his life – Cricket News
Pakistan’s legendary off-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saqlain-Mushtaq-c88743, feels that playing for his country was the most special time of his life and said that he would love to serve Pakistan as a spin-bowling coach in future if given an opportunity
by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The former cricketer from Lahore is extremely impressed by the current lot of spinners in Pakistan.
“If the PCB wanted to utilise my services as a coach in the future, I'd be delighted to serve my country once again. Playing for my country was a special time in my life and coaching my countrymen in future would be an honour,”
said the former cricketer while talking to Pakpassion. “There are currently some exciting spinners playing in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 at the moment and it would be wonderful to work with them.” 
The 36-year-old former player is presently under contract with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Cricket Board (BCB) as a spin-bowling consultant.
“However, at the moment my focus is on working for the BCB with dignity and professionalism, but if in future an opportunity arose to work for the PCB then I would jump at the chance,” Saqlain added.
The great spinner came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and made his Test debut in 1995 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peshawar-c832. The right-armer soon cemented his place in the national team and became extremely popular
all around the world for inventing the ‘Doosra’, which was later mastered by the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859.
Saqlain represented the Green Shirts in 49 Tests and 169 One Day Internationals (ODI), picking up almost 500 scalps at the ultimate stage of the sport with the help of 19 five-wicket hauls. The cricket pundits credit the crafty
spinner for reviving the art of off-spin bowling in an era dominated by fast bowlers and wrist spinners.
The legendary cricketer played his last match in 2004 during the home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and played county
