Saqlain Mushtaq honoured to have played against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 Tendulkar – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saqlain-Mushtaq-c88743, has expressed that playing against Sachin Tendulkar was an honour for him and feels that the batting-maestro has made the right decision by quitting the limited-over sport at this stage
of his career.
Having gone through a lean patch in international cricket over the last 18 months, the cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 announced his retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs) earlier this month.
The legendary batsman however, will continue to represent the Men in Blue in the five-day format and is geared up to deliver the goods against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 later in the season.
While speaking exclusively to Pakpassion, the former Pakistan cricketer, who has played against Tendulkar on a number of occasions, said that playing against one of the greatest players of all times was a sheer pleasure. Saqlain expressed
that he has dominated the little-master on some occasions; whereas, the great batsman has done the opposite on others.
“I feel honoured to have played cricket in an era when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 has been playing cricket. It’s been an honour to have bowled to Sachin,” he said. “I’ve dismissed him, been hit for four, hit for six by Sachin, beaten him with
deliveries. It’s always been an absolute pleasure.”
With more than 34 thousand runs at the ultimate stage of the game and 100 centuries, Tendulkar is arguably the best batsman to have played the game.
Saqlain further added that the cricketer from Mumbai has made the correct move by retiring from ODIs, as it will help the former Indian skipper to concentrate on Test cricket. The former off-spinner feels that Tendulkar’s absence will
also allow the younger players to establish themselves at the global level.
“I think it’s the right decision and it will benefit Sachin in Test cricket and also the Indian one day cricket team as a whole in one day internationals. Sachin has served his country well and he can bow out from one day cricket with
his head held high,” the great off-spinner mentioned.
India are currently playing an ODI series against Pakistan at home, which will be followed by five fixtures against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in January.
