Sara Nordenstam captures four gold medals in Drammen - Norway Long Course Championships
The Norway Long Course Championships ended in stunning fashion with the supremacy of Sara Nordenstam, as she captured four gold medals in the event which took place in Drammen, Norway, on July 12.
The Norwegian swimmer secured victories in the Women’s 100m and 200m breast-stroke, along with the 200m and 400m Individual Medley (IM) titles.
Nordenstam secured the gold medal in the Women’s 200m breast-stroke with a winning time of 2 minutes and 28.12 seconds. In the meantime, Stina Kajsa Colleou won silver in 2 minutes and 35.48 seconds, while Luna Elisabeth Sogaard grabbed bronze in a time
of 2 minutes and 40.66 seconds.
She secured the gold title in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley relay with a victorious time of 2 minutes and 17.93 seconds, whereas, Susann Bjornsen snatched the silver medal in 2 minutes and 21.18 seconds. The bronze title went to Birgitte Elise Softeland
in 2 minutes and 22.80 seconds.
Nordenstam took home the Women’s 400m Individual Medley relay crown in 4 minutes and 46.29 seconds. Meanwhile, Veronica Orheim Bjorlykke wound up second in 5 minutes and 03.44 seconds, whereas, Jacqueline Knutsson rounded out the top three in 5 minutes and
06.45 seconds.
In the Women’s 100m breast-stroke finals, Sara Nordenstam and Katharina Stiberg shared the golden crown mutually in a time of 1 minute and 10.02 seconds. The bronze title went to Stina Kajsa Colleou in 1 minute and 12.63 seconds.
Furthermore, Sara nabbed the silver title in the Women’s 50m breast-stroke meet with a time of 33.12 seconds. Katharina Stiberg earned the gold medal in 31.83 seconds, while Henriette Brekke secured bronze in 33.40 seconds.
After securing the four gold medals in the corresponding events, Nordenstam was extremely happy and satisfied with her individual performances at the Championships.
In the Men’s 400m freestyle relay finals, the squad of Kvale, Mollerop, Aldabe Bomstad and Solli earned the gold medal in a winning time of 3 minutes and 28.82 seconds. On the other hand, the team of Loken, Pedersen, Nordenstam and Andersen took home the
Women's 800 free relay title in a triumphant time of 8 minutes and 27.98 seconds.
Toni Embacher clinched the Men’s 100m butterfly meet with a sterling time of 54.68 seconds. Furthermore, he won the Men’s 200m butterfly title in a time of 2 minutes and 02.73 seconds.
Maciej Zoniuk snared the Men’s 1500m freestyle crown in 16 minutes and 20.72 seconds, whereas, Zoniuk earned his second title of the competition in the Men's 400m freestyle relay in barely 4 minutes and 03.11 seconds.
In another meet, Raphael Stacchiotti took home the Men’s 200m IM crown in 2 minutes and 05.95 seconds, while Stacchiotti earned his second gold title in the Men’s 400m IM with a time of 4 minutes and 28.63 seconds.
