Sarah Brown falters in last round at Northeast Delta Dental International 2012
American Sarah Brown, who has racked up one title on the Symetra Tour in the current season, got off to a good start in the Northeast Delta Dental International 2012, but faltered in the final round to slip to the 17th position on the leaderboard.
Brown kicked off the Northeast Delta Dental International 2012 in an impressive style, as she shot a 73 in the opening round.
She played good strokes on most of the holes in the first two rounds, but lost momentum in the last round and marred her hard-earned position.
Brown did not let her rivals rattle her while she played the first two rounds. She registered a superb 67 in the second round and stood tied for the second spot on the leaderboard. However, carding a 77 in the final round made a severe dent in her overall position and she finished tied for the 17th place.
Commentators said that the American star was full of confidence when she finished her second round, as she managed to gain a lead against most of her rivals. They said that she lost her momentum on some holes in the third round, and this was what hampered her from moving ahead.
Having earned $18,881 in the 2012 season, Brown stands at the seventh position in the money list.
Commentators pointed out that Brown could have won the Northeast Delta Dental International 2012 easily, but she could not judge the ball perfectly. Her worst performance was seen in the third round, as she looked down and out on the front nine and the back nine.
Brown birdied the first hole of the last round, further strengthening her position on the leaderboard. However, she could not keep a grip on her game after she parred the second, third, fourth and fifth hole. She shot two bogeys on the difficult par-3 6th and the par-4 8th hole.
On the back nine, her game looked as sloppy as it did on the front nine. She recorded a bogey on the 12th hole, which put her in a more difficult situation.
The American golfer disappointed her fans yet again when she posted a double bogey on the par-5 16th hole.
