Sarah Brown finishes 9th at Florida’s Natural Charity Classic
American Sarah Brown was more than thrilled on the final day of the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic, as she posted an overall 214, grabbing the 9th position on the leaderboard.
The 20-year-old played among a competent field that featured the defending champion Tzu-Chi Lin. However, the young star proved her worth by recording good scores on the leaderboard.
She kicked off the first round with plenty of confidence and made calculated strokes on most of the holes. She carded a 71 on the first day — something the spectators did not expect her do.
At the end of the first round, Brown was tied for the 22nd, which meant that she had to put up a tough fight in order to surge ahead.  She opened the first day by reeling off a birdie on the first hole.
The weather conditions at the Lake Region Yacht and country Club were quite favourable for most of the players.
Brown also made the most of the comfortable winds, doing exactly what she had planned to.
She parred four holes in a row but faltered on the sixth, carding a bogey. On the front nine of the first round, her a score was a 36.
Brown picked up pace on the back nine, as she drained two birdies on the difficult par-3 12th and par-5 18th hole. Her overall score on the back nine was a 35.
Brown improved her game to a great extent in the second round, as her a position was a tie for a sixth at the end of the day.
She carded an impressive 70 to further consolidate her position on the leaderboard.
The last round proved a little unfavourable for Brown, as she faltered on several holes. Her overall score for the round was a 73.
She carded two straight bogeys on the fourth and fifth holes. She faltered again on the par-4 eighth, as she made her 3rd bogey of the day.
Although scoring 3 bogeys made a little dent in her hard-earned position in the second round, she managed to reel off two birdies on the 9th and 16th holes.
The winner of the tournament was Megan McChrystal from the United States, who carded an overall 5-under 216.
