Sarah Katsoulis of Australia impressed in the qualifying rounds of Women’s 100m breaststroke on day one of the sixth stop of FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup in Beijing, China on Friday, November 2, 2012.
The Australian swimmer met expectations of her supporters in the four-lap breaststroke discipline as she entered the final round as top fastest swimmer.
Katsoulis faced strong contest from her teammate, Sally Foster, but with her gruelling form, she managed to outsmart her over the wall for first position.
Katsoulis was just a touch ahead of her following swimmer and submitted a time of 1 minute and 06.41 seconds.
She stayed 0.01 seconds ahead of Foster, who followed her on the finishing blockade as second best finisher by submitting a time of 1 minute and 06.42 seconds.
Foster was trailed by Jennie Johansson of Sweden, who stayed 0.32 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end as third fastest swimmer by producing an effort of 1 minute and 06.74 seconds.
Johansson was followed by Rie Kaneto of Japan, who was 0.01 seconds behind and finished her race in fourth best place by reporting a time of 1 minute and 06.75 seconds.
Fifth spot of the event was secured by Jessica Hardy of USA, who stayed 0.21 seconds slower and ended her race in a time of 1 minute and 06.96 seconds.
Similarly, Hardy was chased by Ye Sun of China, who tried hard to overpower her former finisher but stayed 0.18 seconds slower from her and completed her race in sixth place by reporting a time of 1 minute and 07.14 seconds.
Seventh spot of the event was obtained by Rebecca Ejdervik of Sweden, who stayed 0.06 seconds away from improving her position and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 07.20 seconds.
Last spot of the race was secured by Jingling s**+, who was 0.45 seconds behind and ended her race in a time of 1 minute and 07.65 seconds.
Furthermore, Katsoulis expressed happiness over her scintillating form in the breaststroke discipline and proclaimed that she would continue her hard work to accomplish the same in future.
