Question:

Sarah Palin's baby and priorities?

How do you feel about Sarah Palin accepting the VP nomination when she has a four month old baby? Do you think her priorities are in the right place?

Not asking for political viewpoints here, just about being a mom. How much time will she have to miss with her baby, on the road campaigning, speeches, late nights, etc.?

  1. I was wondering the same myself.  I couldn't imagine splitting myself like that.

  2. I understand the father stays home a lot with the kids. Is that acceptable?

  3. I imagine that her job is no different than any other woman who has to go back to work after having a baby.  My mom went back to school one week after having me in order to take her final exams to become an RN 37 years ago and worked every day thereafter and I turned out fine.  I am sure with the resources she has she will have time and the baby will be well cared for.  Priorities in this case are no different than the military mom who has to leave her children to go fight for her country defending the rights of us all.  Palin is wanting to make a difference in the country where she is raising her children I find it admirable.

  4. Im more concerned that yer 4 year old girl (or about that) had a tiara on at the press conference.  Although its also kind of amusing.  And she was clearly pouting.  And if it were one of the other 3 candidates daughter's (or sons) Id say the same thing.

oops, it was a stock photo from her inaugaration as gov.

    the media is so sneaky

  5. If you notice; she had the baby with her today. She has help. She has been an effective governor; as a working mother. Why would it be any different now? How can you even question her priorities? You don't know her and haven't followed her around the past four months have you? How do you know she won't have the baby with her every minute except when she makes a speech? That would be more time than the average 9-5 working mother spends who has to leave her child in day care.

Would you be happier if she was sitting at home collecting welfare?

  6. I'm sure she's worried about all the time away from baby, but I'm also pretty sure she'll have that baby with her during some of the campaigning. It might be a good thing if she gets into the white house, because maybe they'll have a law allowing all us babywearing mommies wear our babies to work. I would love to have my daughter at work with me.

  7. Any of you who dont already know it will be her older kids raising the baby are lying to yourself. Do you see her husband holding the baby in the photos? No, you see the girls.

  8. She has a lot of help, and I think her husband took a leave of absense from work when she became governor a couple years ago.  Her other kids are older too so I bet they help out with things.

oh yeah, and about the "priorities" she found out her son had Downs when she was pregnant and her response was to say that he's perfect and will be a joy and to trust in God.  I don't have any doubts about her priorities as a Mom :o)

  9. If it is correct that the father will be taking care of the child, I don't see a problem.

As long as ONE of the parents is looking after the children, all will be fine.

  10. She can't have a family and a career at the same time?  Men do it all the time.  No one is wondering what Barack's priorities are when he has 2 young girls at home....

  11. Well, I like many, looked up Palin's name on Google. In addition to biographical stuff, I found a discussion on whether speculation in Alaska about whether the baby was really the Palin's 16 year old daughter's baby or not should be revealed or whether the family's privacy should be observed. I had seen something like that on "Desperate Housewives"

Could that be an option that people who are anti-abortionists should consider when their daughter has an unwanted pregnacy?

  12. i think its wonderful! her family comes 1st. Shes had 5 children, and her newist child has downs syndrome. She is a mother who is strongly family oriented. She still breastfeeds and loves all of her children, so dont be concerned!!! :)

  13. i do not think she is putting her family first here, she is leaving her children to be used by john mccain, and her husband works for BP so i don't know how much time he really has either.

how can she call herself an average hockey mom when she's not?
