  1. Well, she actually governed a state that is really close to Russia. What is Obama's experience with that???

  2. Palin lives next door to Canada She probably went to a gift shop once.

And of course Russia is across the Bering Strait, maybe she walked over when it was frozen. Do they have a gift shop on the other side?

  3. The closest she's come is being the leader of the Alaska National Guard.  For her trip to visit them in Kuwait last year she got issued her first passport.

Other than that she has stated that being in the PTA has prepared her for dealing with the KGB.

  4. yes, the McCain camp has already said that she lives next to Russia....  doesn't that make you feel better already????????

and don't forget, during the V.P. debates, she will be able to point out on the map all the places that Biden has actually visited as a Senator, and she will be able to hold up newspaper clippings of global leaders who Biden has actually met and she has actually only read about....  that is if she did read about them.

  5. Not just Russia, but Siberia. You know how hostile the Siberians are.

  6. Barack is well travel and has a better understanding of dealings with different cultures. She has never travel, except for one trip to visit the troops, that doesn't count as foreign experience, neither does living next to canada and russia.

  7. No I can't.  Can you give any on Obama?  Since she is just running for Vice President I don't quite thinks its as important.

  8. She has dealt with Russia and Canada since they border and Alaska's prime resource is oil.

Does Barack Obama have any recorded stance on foreign policy that you can give for a real example of his foreign experience?

  9. No.  Aside from a rah rah tour made by Barack, can you please provide me with an example of his?  After all, he wants to be the Pres. unlike Palin who will be the VP.

If you're going to pull the experience garbage, you'll go down REAL fast.  Even Barack is brighter than trying to pull that.  Apparently his duped followers are not?

  10. Since when is foreign policy experience needed for a vice president?  In any case, her state borders two countries; she has more foreign policy experence than Obama does, who has spent nearly his entire senate term running for president.

  11. I wonder how much foreign policy experience Bill Clinton had as the govenor of Arkansas.

I think female governor's are just as qualified as male governors.  Don't You?

  12. She has none. She has very little other experience either. She doesn't qualify to be a private in the US Army!

  13. Nope.

But then Biden has plenty of experience with this.  Unfortunately, it's all been BAD experience making BAD decisions.

  14. Gov. Palin has about as much foreign policy experience as Senator Obama.  At least the Republicans are not trying to put that lack of experience at the head of their ticket.

  15. I don't think she really has any, but then again, every politician in high office has their strengths and weaknesses.

I heard a very interesting commentary on the radio this morning; the host was addressing the lack of experience cited for both Obama AND Palin; he essentially said that the mark of a true leader is not found in their experience - while having the experience certainly helps, people don't follow true leaders based on how long they have been on the job.  True leaders are idealists, thinkers, those who are passionate about their beliefs and can inspire passion in others.

Palin has executive experience, as we've heard over and over, but I think her true passion lies in her perception of the role of government.  Her ability to "play with the big boys" and win - her courage to take on corruption regardless of party affiliation, her desire to eliminate wasteful programs and spending and her ability to turn those savings back to her constituency are her strengths.

Obama supporters had an interesting point of view when trying to address this question during the primaries.  Perhaps the most experienced president we had, they said,  prior to his election had been  a Representative, a Constitutional Lawyer, an envoy (ambassador) to Russia, and a Senator.  Remember this argument?  The president was James Buchanan, who has been argued by many to have been the worst US president in history. After all, it was his administration that failed to address the key issues that led to the Civil War in this country.

Ironically, his successor to the Presidency was that back-woods buffoon whose entire political experience began and ended with one term as a representative, Abraham Lincoln.  His understanding of people, of politics, his abilities as a leader and his innate sense of diplomacy and the role of government enabled him to guide this country through its most critical trials.

McCain has plenty of foreign policy experience, where there are critical issue facing this country today.  Another area, where McCain is decidedly weak, is in the area of the domestic economy which is tied up inexorably with oil - an area where Palin has direct experience (and in a much better way, IMHO, than either Bush or Cheney).  Both are reformers - I admire their joint desire to root out government corruption and wasteful spending; the combination of talents and experience mixed with their passion for leadership I think make them a great ticket.

  16. Substitute "Obama" (at the top of the ticket) for "Palin" and you've got yourself at question!

  17. I'm unable to find any.
