Sarah Sjostrom wins Women’s 50m butterfly title in Eindhoven: 2011 Dutch Open Long Course Nationals
Sarah Sjostrom outperformed her rivals on the third evening session of the 2011 Dutch Open Long Course Nationals, in Eindhoven, Netherlands, on Sunday, December 4.
More importantly, Sjostrom went on to win the Women’s 50m butterfly title on the podium by bashing the finishing divider in a thrilling time of 25.94 seconds. The swim fell short of her previous best meet record of 25.67 seconds, set back in Amsterdam, this
March. In the meantime, the silver title was taken over by Kelly de Jong in an impressive time of 26.74 seconds and the bronze title went to Vanessa Mohr in a spot of 26.83 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 1500m freestyle meet was taken over by Job Kienhuis in a time of 14 minutes and 58.34 seconds. More importantly, Kienhuis beat his previous best meet record of 15 minutes and 05.27 seconds, set back at the 2011 World Championships. The
effort moved him to tenth place in the current ranking of world swimming.
Gregorio Paltrinieri was placed second in the respective meet by thrashing the finishing wall in a winning time of 15 minutes and 16.22 seconds, while the third place went to David Davies in a time of 15 minutes and 24.67 seconds.
On the other hand, the Women’s 400m Individual Medley title was snatched by Hannah Miley in a spot of 4 minutes and 34.76 seconds. In the meantime, Mireia Belmonte Garcia won silver medal in the respective splash by banging the finishing blockade in a time
of 4 minutes and 35.87 seconds and the bronze title went to Kathryn Meaklim in a mark of 4 minutes and 43.74 seconds.
Camille Lacourt took home the Men’s 100m back-stroke title by hitting the finishing barrier in a time of 53.71 seconds. Bastiaan Lijesen took home the silver medal in the respective meet by clicking the finishing wall in a time of 54.15 seconds. The swim
moved him to number 22 place in the existing rank of international swimming. The bronze title went to Aschwin Wildeboer Faber in a mark of 54.34 seconds.

Sebastiaan Verschuren took home the Men’s 100m freestyle title by banging the finishing barrier in a winning blot of 48.60 seconds. Stefan Nystrand grabbed silver title in the respective meet by thrashing the finishing barricade in a time of 48.91 seconds,
while the bronze title went to Florent Manaudou in 49.40 seconds.
Duane Da Roche Marce snatched the Women's 100m back-stroke crown of the platform by bashing the finishing barricade in a time of 1 minute and 00.92 seconds. Sharon van Rouwendaal won silver medal in the respective swim by claiming the finishing barricade
in a time of 1 minute and 01.15 seconds, whereas, the bronze title went to Karin Prinsloo in a spot of 1 minute and 01.73 seconds.
