West Indies' Stafanie Taylor has been named as the ICC’s Women ODI Cricketer of the Year for 2012, while Sarah Taylor of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 clinched the same award in the T20 category.

During the twelve-month voting period, between August 4, 2011 and August 6, 2012 – the Jamaican top-order batsman scored 514 runs from 13 One Day Internationals, at an impressive average of 46.72. She also picked up 16 wickets with her right-arm off-spin, at an average of 13.12. This is the second successive award for the Jamaican cricketer, who could not attend the awards ceremony in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 due to her playing commitments in United Kingdom.
"Thank you this award tonight. I'd like to thank my family and friends for this award," said the 21-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 top-order batsman while speaking to WICB Media from UK.
"It was quite a shocker. I expected to win the Twenty20 Player of the Year award, rather than ODI Player of the Year. But I am very appreciative and it shows all the hard work that I have been putting into my game is bearing fruit," she added further.
The Jamaican cricketer also said that she was expecting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mithali-Raj-c76407 to win something big this time, owing to her impressive ODI stats for the last year.
England’s wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarah-Jane-Taylor-c88769 scored 340 T20I runs during the voting period, and was involved in 11 dismissals as well, including seven stumpings. She also could not attend the ceremony due to her national commitments.
"A massive thank you for this award," said the 23-year-old top order batsman, who has to date played 40 T20 Internationals and averages above 30 with the bat.
"I'd like to thank all my team-mates and family for their support and I'm thrilled to have won it, and I'm sorry I couldn't be in Sri Lanka tonight to accept my award," she went on to date.
In Men’s category, Sri Lanka’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737 was named as ODI Player of the Year.
