Sarang Lakhanee stuns Kein Hiung Chong in qualifying round clash at India International Challenge
India’s budding shuttle Sarang Lakhanee displayed his elevated skills in the arena and cheered his home fans by showing exit to Malaysia’s Kein Hiung Chong in Men’s Singles qualifying round of Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 in India, on Wednesday,
December 12.
The spirited Sarang, who has been working hard in training sessions to make his presence felt, put up stunning show and remained successful in defeating his Malaysian challenger in a convincing fashion while consuming 29 minutes in the arena.
Indian player was in smashing form in the arena as he played with superb speed and precision and managed to register his supremacy in the arena by winding up this qualifying round clash in straight sets with a reasonable total on the board.
In contrast, the Malaysian shuttler failed to find a good rhythm in the first game and he lost it quite easily. However, he showing aggression in the following set and stayed close to his local opponent but lost his focus in the ending points and crashed
out in qualifying round.
Sarang showed his aggression on court from the opening points of first set by building a huge pressure on his opponent.
The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first set and Sarang impressed local crowd with his unparalleled craft.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Sarang was leading the game with a reasonable margin.
The match proceeded in the same way after the one-minute interval as Sarang did not lose his commanding position in the arena.
Sarang remained consistent in employing powerful strokes in targeted areas and grabbed the opening game with a comfortable margin of 21-9.
Kein Hiung played good badminton in the second set and he stayed close to his local challenger until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, both shuttlers continued playing with terrific speed in all areas of the court and managed to reach at 20-20.
At this stage, Sarang showed his brilliance in the arena and played with wonderful aggression which helped him to score ending points and he grabbed the game with a tight 22-20 margin on the board.
Indian shuttler made his home fans happy by ending up this Men’s Singles qualifying round clash in straight sets with a convincing total of 21-9 and 22-20.
