  1. Sardinia is famous for its beautiful coasts. Apart from that, there is not a whole lot to visit. I will give some places, though you have most likely seen them all:

Caprera - you can visit Garibaldi's house, and the island is beautifully wild.

Isola di Sant Pietro and Carloforte - I haven't actually been here, but have been told it is worth a visit.

Porto Rotondo and Porto Cervo - yeah, they are very touristy, but they're pleasant, lots of pretty shops, and you can always relax in the piazzas and get a coffee. You might even meet a celebrity!

La Maddalena - which is very quaint and lively. You can take a boat trip from here to visit all the small islands and the very famous Spiaggia Rosa.

That's really about it! People reallly go to Sardinia for the sea. They spend their time seeking out little known calette and beaches to spend the day at, or just cruise drive along the coasts.

  2. We lived on Sardinia for two years...We were on the island of Lamaddalena...Which is where Caprera is located....It is a beautiful island which is very crowded in the summer time...If you go in September the crowds should be fewer by then.....Another great town to visit on Sardinia is Castlesardo, Olbia, Tempio....Olbia has some really great shopping...Palau is where you catch the ferry over to Lamddalena...The beaches on Lamadd are great!! We miss the live style over there a lot....Hope you have fun.
