  1. Sardinia is very diverse and with plenty of places to see and discover. You can experience local cuisine everywhere you go on the island.

    You should try to  go inland as well as the coast and beautiful beaches. There is where the real and traditional Sardinia is. I'd suggest to maybe do the North coast, a good place to start is Arzachena and then go inland to Oliena or Tempio Pausania.

    If you'd like more info about the island or possible accommodation go to http://www.holidays-in-sardinia.com

  2. w la SARDEGNA !

  3. It's an island in the Mediterranean Sea, just west of mainland Italy. It's absolutely stunning and its inhabitants are proud of their unique history and language. The beaches are the main attraction in my opinion, they are among the best in Europe.

  4. the beaches are absolutely stunning whever you go in Sardinia.   You can go celebrity watching around The Costa Smerelda i e Porto Cervo.

    From Santa Teresa di Gallura you can get a boat over to the Islands and Corsica.

    Stintino is beautiful but gets very busy but not to be missed.

    Basically wherever you go in Sardinia is beautiful .    Hire a car.  Dont forget the mountains - but not for the faint hearted.

    Alghero has a lovely old Town. A little tourist train takes you around. Do it in the daytime and night. Its so different.

    We had a fabulous time and would definately go again.

    Enjoy yourself

  6. General info correct;

    for sightseeing and excursions you can find a lot on the net (my favoured are listed below);

    for local cuisine: it varies on the regions ... in Cagliari and Alghero, for instance, it's fish based; in tha barbagia region is meat based; be sure not to lose the seadas (dessert filled with a special pecorino cheese ), tha Myrto (alcoolic drink after lunch or dinner), the "culurgiones" (they're like ravioli ... but better!) and the bread (there are a lot of types: carasau, civraxiu, coccoi, ... try them all; and check for the Museo del pane rituale tel. 0785.879003, info@museodelpanerituale.it

    ).

    Architecture: in S. you can find a unique architecture: nuraghi (see below).

    About handicraft:

    *lot of textiles (if you can, visit the Museo Unico Regionale dell'Arte Tessile Sarda via Bologna 09086 - Samugheo (OR) Tel: 0783 631052 Fax: 0783 631052 Email: museotessilesamugheo@tiscali.it);

    *silver filigrana jewels are reproduced from ancient originals and don't cost too much.

    *basket weaving

    *wood carving

  8. SARDINES! ^_____^

  9. it's absolutely fantastic!

  10. Alright, Sardegna is technically part of Italy, but Sardos are very different from mainland Italians. They have different history, different dialect, and different demeanors.  It's located to the Southwest of mainland Italy and is only a short flight from Fumicino in Roma.

    The beaches are world class and there are a ton of them. It's not hard to find one entirely empty for a little privacy. Usually in the summer, you can see huge yachts off the coast.  The best places to go are Algerro which is a quaint little town with amazing sea side hotels, Palau has some awesome little bars, and I love La Maddalena where I used to live.

    La Madd was for 30 some years the host to a US naval base. There are great little bars like Drinkers and Pennydrops, wonderful restaurants (You must eat the mussels at Spike's Garden Bar), and a bustling little town around it. And of course, my favorite thing about Italy and Sardinia....GELATO!!! It's ice cream sort of but it's made of milk and sugar, it has a different texture and is way better!

  11. you must go in Stintino..

    very very good.

  12. Sardinia is considered to be as a small continent with many different landscapes and cultures within the same island.

    Sardinia is pretty famous for the beauty of its sea, however even its internal area is now getting more interest thanks to the ancient traditions that you can discover in this part of the island as well as the very good food.

    Sardinia is suitable for sports fan, bikers, as well as for beach lover. you can find many information here http://www.charmingsardinia.com/sardinia...
