Sarrsar and Capponi bring more heat to the desert in the Swaidan Trading Company – Goodyear Handicap
Swaidan Trading Company – Goodyear Handicap is scheduled to take place at Meydan on 23rd February, 2012.
The 8 runners will be competing across a distance of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 110 yards for a purse of £46,452.
The line-up starts from
Capponi,
Vagabond Shoes,
Sarrsar,
Disa Leader,
Rochdale,
Club Oceanic,
Navajo Chief, and
Royal Destination.
Capponi, the 5-year-old horse, has been performing consistently well since the beginning of 2012.
His improvement is mainly because of his trainer, Mahmood Al Zarooni’s hard work.
The son of Medicean, out of Nawaiet, has finished in 2nd place, in the Longines Conquest Collection Handicap, at Meydan, on 5th January, 2012. He was defeated by Sarrsar who is trained by Saeed Bin Suroor.
In his next race, he triumphed. He crossed the wire first by beating Sarrsar, in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Handicap, held at Meydan, on 26th January, 2012.
Sarrsar, the 5-year-old gelding, has been in extremely good form. He is the son of Shamardal, out of Bahr, whelped on 29th January, 2007.
He is a tough competitor and will make for an extremely exciting race.
Disa Leader, the son of Parade Leader, out of Plumosa, has not been performing as well as his trainer, M.F. De Kock hoped.
The 7-year-old gelding finished 4th in the Freehold Trophy Handicap, at Meydan, on 3rd February, 2012.
This performance was remarkably better than the previous one. He finished 9th in the SMKA – MK By Honeywell Handicap, at the same track at Meydan, on 20th January, 2012.
Club Oceanic finished 5th at Meydan, in the Dubal Trophy Handicap, which took place on 9th February, 2012.
The 4-year-old gelding is trained by Saeed Bin Suroor who is hoping that he will bring his best game forward.
In the same race, Navajo Chief finished in 4th place. The son of King’s Best, out of Navajo Rainbow, has the capability to push through the tough contenders, provided he races with all that he has.
Royal Destination, the son of Dubai Destination, out of Royale, finished 4th in his last race, in the Jaguar XF Trophy Handicap, held on 16th February, at Meydan.
The prediction for this race’s winner cannot be made with assurance.
Sarrsar and Capponi will be going head to head against each other this season. They have been undergoing vigorous training and will heat up the track.
The second place is likely to be acquired by Disa Leader or
Club Oceanic.
Royal Destination and Navajo Chief will be fighting for third place.
