Konstantin Sarsania has defended the misfiring strikers, saying that the change in management could be one of the reasons behind their struggling form
FC Fakel Voronezh assistant manager, Konstantin Sarsania, has shared his opinion on the reason behind below par performances by some of the top strikers in the Russian Premier League this season.
Sarsania backed Spartak Moscow’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Kuranyi-c20736 to score more goals this season after the duo failed to meet the expectations at their respective clubs this season.
Kuranyi, who has found the back of the net just once since the start of the league campaign this term, is struggling to get more goals after the Moscow-based club sent his striker-partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020, on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf
this summer.
His struggling form is one of the key reasons why the White-Blues are struggling to climb up the league table. As things stand, the Dinamiki are at the 11th spot on the league table with just 15 points.
The 30-year-old attacker remained the Moscow-based club’s second highest goal-scorer last term with 13 goals.
Welliton, on the other hand, is yet to score a league goal this term after failing to get on the score-sheet despite making 8 league appearances this season.
There is little arguing to the statement that the misfiring striker have been struggling to rediscover their old from after falling victim to change of management at their respective clubs.
The Musora parted company with Sergei Silkin to appoint Dan Petrescu while the Spartachi replaced Valery Karpin with Unai Emery this summer.
“Kuranyi and Welliton are high level players. They have proved this by scoring a lot of goals in their last seasons with their respective clubs. The problem is that these players have fell victim to their new coaches.”
“In my opinion, they are not in their best condition due to the change of management.” The former FC Khimki coach was quoted as saying.
Sarsania went on to urge the supporter to back the under-fire striker despite their poor form, insisting that it will only be a matter of time before they will start scoring at their respective clubs.
