Sarwan’s return to form pleases Bravo – Cricket News Update
Following his side’s impressive victory against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379, heaped praised on Ramnaresh Sarwan after the player played a pivotal century knock to help the team win the second ODI by seven wickets.
Since returning to the international set-up following a gap of 18 months, Sarwan’s form was a worrying factor for the team where his aggregate score was a mere 19 from four outings, which included two ducks.  However, the veteran finally repaid the faith
by piling up a confident unbeaten 120 in the recently concluded tie, further assuring that the team took an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
Despite the defeat, the Rhodesians also showed renewed self-belief to pile a defendable total of 273, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Craig-Richard-Ervine-c51733 all scoring half-centuries.
However, the hosts were always in command of the game and reached the target with an over to spare. The victory was built on a strong opening stand between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kieran-Omar-Akeem-Powell-c71441 and Sarwan, both of whom stood together to add 111. The tourists then halted the proceedings,
courtesy Masakadza, who picked up Powell and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 in quick successions. However, the victory target was always in reach and Sarwan made sure that he stayed until the end.
"Since he returned [after a contentious 18-month absence] in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RR-Sarwan-c2371 didn't get to bat long. He asked the selectors if he could come here early and play the practice game, so he wants that opportunity to score,
he wants to perform. So it was a decision by the management, and we asked Sarwan if he wanted the opportunity [to open] and he said 'yeah'."
For Bravo, the outcome was satisfactory on a personal note as well. Under his leadership, the Windies not only sealed the series but his own performances also took an upward swing. In this match, Bravo claimed career best figures of 6 for 43, and further
scooped the Player of the Match award.
"Though I wouldn't say I'm back to my best bowling form; I still have a lot to do. The six wickets will help getting my confidence back, I can push on from here,” he said.
The final ODI will be played tomorrow at St George.
