Sascha Kindred clinches Men’s MC 100m breaststroke gold – British Gas Swimming Championships
Six-time Paralympics champion, Sascha Kindred of Leominster clinched the title of Men’s Multi Class (MC) 100m breaststroke on day seven of the 2012 British Gas Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre on Friday, March 9.
The 34-year-old Kindred enjoyed a prominent lead over his challengers throughout the double lap breaststroke discipline. He remained considerably ahead of his challengers in the two-lap event and stepped on the podium for gold medal by clocking 1 minute
and 23.73 seconds.
His gold winning effort remained almost two seconds ahead of Thomas Young of Co Manchester Aquatics, who followed him on the medal rostrum for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 25.59 seconds.
The third position of the event was secured by Scott Quin of Warrender Ba, who completed his swim in a time of 1 minute and 11.82 seconds. With his alluring effort, Quin enjoyed an advantage of 0.19 seconds over Daniel pepper of Stockport Mo, who settled
on the finishing end for fourth position with the timing of 1 minute and 12.01 seconds.
Subsequently, the crowd experienced astounding efforts of Portsmouth N’s Amberley h**r, who dominated the playoff of Women’s MC 100m breaststroke. h**r faced tough battle from her challenger, Nicole Lough of South Tyne but earned her way to the victory stand
for gold medal by posting 1 minute and 23.21 seconds.
Her gold winning effort remained 0.58 seconds slower from her following rival, Lough, who seized second best spot of the event by tapping the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 23.79 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Harriet Lee of Co Peterboro, who grabbed bronze medal of the discipline by concluding her swim in a time of 1 minute and 21.15 seconds. Lee enjoyed an advantage of 5.19 seconds over Natalie Massey of Aquabears,
who completed her race in a time of 1 minute and 26.34 seconds.
Furthermore, the arena appreciated ruthless efforts of all participants in their exclusive evens while the session completed after the event. In addition, the winners received medals for their fascinating struggles in MC events at medal ceremony of the championship.
