Bayer Leverkusen manager Sascha Lewandowski is desperate in his attempt to mount a serious challenge for the new UEFA Europa League and come out as eventual winners.
The coach was appointed in April and the club is raring to go for the second most prestigious European trophy following a good run in Europe’s premier club competition. This year they did not qualify for Europe’s elite tournament

The coach further added that his team was awarded a place in the most amazing competition by being consistent in the Bundesliga the year before that.
“Playing in the Champions League last season was a reward for the great season before. This term we want to reach the knockout stage no matter what and then go as far as possible. I know the final is being played in Amsterdam –
that would be quite an experience,” he concluded.
