Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen clashed at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena on Sunday, October 7, in the Bundesliga and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. The teams shared the spoils as Vedad Ibisevic and Stefan Kiessling scored both the goals
for their respective sides.
Sascha Lewandowski, who is Leverkusen’s joint manager with Sami Hyypia, expressed his disappointment on the chances missed throughout the course of the game and insisted that defensive lapses let the opposition beck into the game.
The manager admitted that there were some poor mistakes at the back which could have been avoided and the side certainly missed the chance to take all three points from the game. He stated that the team’s performance was not satisfying
and wants the players to improve on their mistakes when the team returns to league action after the international break.
“It is frustrating that we weren't more ruthless after taking the lead. Up to the break, we lost possession too easily and that allowed Stuttgart back into the game. Afterwards things were different. We wanted to win here so we're
not 100 per cent satisfied,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bruno-c8098 Labbadia was also distraught on the two points dropped from the game. He insisted that the side could have done better and lamented the missed chances throughout the course of the game.
The tactician stressed that Leverkusen play very well on the counter attack and his team could have stopped the opposition from scoring at least one of the two goals.
“We started well and then conceded a goal out of nothing. The team responded well. Bayer are sensational on the counterattack and, all in all, we're disappointed not to have got three points,” he concluded.
Both sides have had a poor start to the season and have failed to live up to the expectations of the fans. Leverkusen are in sixth place with 11 points whereas Die Roten are struggling in 15th place with only one win
from the seven fixtures they have taken part in.
