I was on the A14 this week.My sat nav gave the speed limit as 70 mph.But surely its 60 on all A roads.Am I mistaken or is it common for this kind of error?

  1. Depends on whether the stretch of the A14 in question is a dual carriageway. Max speed for dual carriageways is 70mph unless otherwise indicated.

  2. For a standard car without a trailer...

    Built up area...30mph

    National Speed Limit... 60mph/70mph:

The Nat Speed Limit on a Single carriageway 'A' road is 60mph, on a Motorway it is 70mph, but if the A road is a Dual Carriageway with a central reservation, the speed limit is 70!

Perhaps this section is Dual Carriageway? Otherwise the Sat Nav is wrong!!!

  3. 70 on dual carriageways

60 on single carriageways unless it says 50

  4. If it's dual carriageway, the limit is 70 mph unless otherwise indicated.
