Sat in or digital out for ps3 with optical?

Can i connect my ps3 to the "digital out" optical port in my surround sound receiver or does it have to be connected in the "sat in" optical port?

No you connect your Optical out from your PS3 to the Optical In of your receiver.  I assumed this is how you want to connect your sound system.
