i took sats once and got with no preparation whatsoever

-670 reading

-690 writing--i got an 8 on my essay which is low

-790 math

the math i saw my book and the one i got wrong was the lowest difficulty which im so pissed at cuz i just misread the problem..now the thing is the first time i took the test it was more or less a practice for me-the score i got was what i was aiming for overall..but now that i did so well is there a good chance i could bring math to 800 and the other 2 to 700 as i would like to have a decent shot at ivy leagues..to be completely honest i dont see myself studying for this at all..i took the tests in january of my junior year and am about to be a senior

now what im also worried about is there is a chance i dont improve any--will that deter colleges as they migth see the first test as a fluke, or do they basically ignore everything but the highest score..if this is the case i might not even take teh tests again cuz im fine but i think i could do better

  1. It won't be a problem if you don't improve.

For any real shot at an ivy, you have no choice but to retake. It won't matter a bit if you get an 800 on math, really, the 790 is plenty good. But you need to get the other 2 scores well into the 700s for any real shot. Study, it's worth it. 4 years at an ivy will give you advantages for the rest of your life. Don't forget you'll also need 2 or 3 SATIIs depending on the ivy.

Keep in mind that ivies superscore, they take your best score in each section.
