Satanic Beat expected to thrive in Ripon Cathedral Celebration Handicap
The Jedd O’Keeffe-trained brown gelding, Satanic Beat, is carrying plenty of confidence following his last two epic performances; therefore, he poses to be the strongest candidate for the Ripon Cathedral Celebration Handicap that will be held at Ripon racecourse
on Monday, July 9.
In the Class 3 contest over 1 mile, the three-year-old veteran horse will test his outstanding racing personas against 8 competitors. It is for the second time in his 10-race career that the son of Dark Angel out of Slow Jazz will run on the soft track
of Ripon. His previous experience over there was pleasant.
On April 19, 2012, the brilliant horse nicely notched up third position against 11 contestants in the Ripon “c**k O’ North” Handicap over 1 mile. Thus, he is well-familiar with the ground that he will be given to sprint today.
Overall, the Patrick Gleeson-bred gelding has won 2 of his total 10 starts so far. During the last month, he made two glaring marks that boosted up his morale greatly.
First, he elegantly won the Constant Security Services Handicap over 1mile at Pontefract and then finished as a runner-up in the Scottish Sun On Sunday Handicap over 1mile at Ayr.
Now, Satanic Beat is all ready to beat his rivals in the Ripon Cathedral Celebration Handicap that will be an acid test of the gelding’s skills. Relatively, he has the highest 95 percent chances to thrive.  Moreover, the Paddy Power has rated him 5-2 for
the race.
Among the other runners, only Honeymead is likely to perform well today. The Richard Fahey-trained bay filly grabbed a couple of runner-up ranks in a row during the month of May. These were Daikin D1 Installer Handicap and Ripon, Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse
Handicap----the first race was held at Musselburgh while the second one went down at Ripon.
The experienced daughter of Pivotal out of Camaret stepped forward to finish 4th in each of the two subsequent starts during June. Overall, she has won 2 of her total 15 starts so far.
In this situation, a fierce battle will be witnessed between Honeymead and Satanic Beat. The fight will be amazing to watch. Good luck to both the runners.
