Satellite TV (Directv) Weird problem?

Everytime I turn on my AC( Air Conditioner) my Directv goes hayWIRE its stop the show and everything messes up. Whats wrong with that?

Your probably using the same outlet as your tv to plug in your ac. Use a different one.

Try moving them apart and pluging them into different outlets.

If you have an older house the electric system might not be grounded right .  That would do it also

See if it is the Directv box or associated with that box by testing with a DVD player. Ifi DVD player does the same thing then you know its wiring with the TV. Change the power source of your TV.

It is picking up the electrical signals being emitted from the air conditioner. I would try to maybe ask them what you should do to fix this problem. I used to have a stereo that picked up someone's cb radio. Another possible thing it that there maybe too many things plugged in the room. Sometimes this causes a power drainage. And may also be faulty wiring in your home.  But for the most part I am pretty sure that it is the air conditioner doing this.

your ac is pulling too much amps from your circuit, essentially a localized "brown out" . if you have an ac window unit, connect your satellite reciever to a different outlet, if you have central air, you may have to contact an AC repair man, as an AC is not suposed to pull so much voltage that it affects other appliances, the AC blower motor or the compressor capacitors may be bad.
