Does the signal get low when it rains lightly. And is better than cable. I live in Florida I'm judging Brighthouse cable or Satellite.

  1. the reason the signal goes out, weakens in the rain is that the small dishes dont have the gain of the bigger dishes. you can get bigger dishes that dont have that problem. (look behind the cable company office, know what you'll see? BIG satellite dishes)

Whether its better than cable depends on the channels you want to watch, how much your willing to pay.

Dish network is cheap, but not very many good channels, Directv has more HD channels than anybody..

myrateplan.com will give you an estimate of what your looking at paying and the packages.

  2. There is no such thing as a low signal.  When it rains you get a full signal or you don,t. It usually takes hard Rain to lose your signal. Sat is good but the support is horrable and you are lock in by a contract.

  3. personally i like cable better. my experiences with satellite haven't been good. whenever it rained it always went in and out and if there were severe thunderstorms the satellite didn't come back on until afterwards.to me cable is more reliable.

  4. I had many problems with my satellite tv service at the beginning. Bad reception and a screwed up service plan were several of my problems. I ended up having to call a different local installer to come out and correct the problems that the first installer created. I'd suggest that you call a local Florida company to help you out. http://www.satellitefortv.com/Florida-Sa...
