Satellite computer drives...?

Question

Alright, so I have a Windows Vista computer. It's not a satellite computer. Some one told me there is some drive that you hook into your computer to have it read satellite signals [just like a satellite computer, but not one]. Does any one know if there is some sort of thing that you hook into your computer to get a satellite signal? Thanks in advance! [:

i would imagine this is possible but the cost would be incredible.  Unless they are talking about gps systems or satellite internet.
