Satellite tv through a Satellite tuner card...?

Does anybody know, if you want to watch satellite tc through a Satellite tuner card if (Like DSTv in South Africa Uses a Smartcard) you need an extra component for the smartcard, or do you emulate the card on your PC, to get the service I assume is encrypted to use on widows media centre or can I just get the free services on my pc?

    Unless your computers sat tv card has a card slot for your viewing card you cannot watch subscription tv on your pc.
