Satire magazine cover?? Idea for article?? Help!?

I have to write a satirical article for a magazine that our class is making in English class. I thought my topic would be something about America's obsession with fast food, or something like that. so, two questions. A) we each have to design a cover for the magazine, relating to anything satirical or pertaining to just our article. How should I make this cover...like what kinds of things should i put on it. B) I saw something online that was a satire about McDonalds making food out of endangered animals. The article was really funny, and I was wondering, would be plagerism to use the same idea but write something of my own just loosely based on it? Thanks.
