Satomi Suzuki pockets Women’s 100m breaststroke gold: Day three - Tatsumi International Pool, Tokyo
Satomi Suzuki pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 100m breaststroke on third day of the Tatsumi International Pool in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday, April 4.
Suzuki showed no mercy to her challengers and dominated her way throughout the double lap breaststroke event. With her remarkable pace and perfect stroke, she enjoyed a comfortable lead over her challengers throughout the event and reached the podium for gold medal.
With her invincible efforts, she remained in a prominent lead over her following swimmer and appeared on the finishing wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 06.80 seconds.
Her gold winning effort remained just 0.48 seconds slower from national record of 1 minute and 06.32 seconds.
The champion was followed by Mina Matsushima, who remained 0.74 seconds slower from her and settled on the finishing blockade for silver medal by posting a time of 1 minute and 07.54 seconds.
The second position holder remained 0.02 seconds ahead of Fumiko Kawanabe, who occupied third finest spot of the discipline by completing her swim in a time of 1 minute and 07.56 seconds.
Kawanabe remained nearly 0.30 seconds faster from Miku Kanasashi, who completed her swim in fourth fastest place by hitting the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 07.87 seconds.
The fourth best finisher was followed by Maya Hamano, who clinched fifth fastest spot of the event by posting a time of 1 minute and 08.04 seconds.
Subsequently, Hamano remained just 0.09 seconds ahead of Kanako Watanabe, who tapped the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 08.13 seconds for sixth position.
The seventh finest spot of the race was secured by Keiko Fukudome, who remained nearly one stroke behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 08.36 seconds.
The last position of the event was obtained by Nanaka Tamura, who was nearly half a body length slower from overwhelming her former finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 08.71 seconds.
Furthermore, winners received awards and accolades for their notable efforts while the championship will end on April 8 after the conclusion of all races.
