I have a 2008 WRX that is satellite ready. It has a button for "SAT" on my radio. I want to get XM for it. I called my dealer and found that my car is ready but needs a reciever etc which is 400$ plus labor. Can I buy one and do it myself? Any ideas? Links appreciated for what I may need. I got the xm info already just need install and parts info.

  1. The most convinant way to do it is by simply go to one of your local audio stores, and they will install ther reciver for you.  The dealer usually send the cars out to an audio store to have this done for you, but they charge you extra, So, just take it in your self.  And dont buy the reciver from the dealer, its to expensive, the audio store will sell you one, with labor included at more than half the cost from what the dealership is charging you.

  2. I am almost 99.9% positive you can install it yourself...The price would be a lot cheaper that way...Just go to the XM website and it'll give you more details than I can.  I'm really jealous, I've wanted a WRX for years now...they are sooooo much fun to drive.  I hope you got a manual not an automatic
