Sauber-Ferrari driver Kamui Kobayashi homeless in Europe: Formula 1 reports
Recent reports have revealed that Sauber-Ferrari driver Kamui Kobayashi, who also won the best young driver’s award in 2010, is currently homeless in Europe.
The Japanese driver stated that he recently moved out of his Parisian flat after which is no longer has a “home” in Europe. The young driver is going to have to get over this problem sooner or later as the Formula 1 calendar is filled with European races
and even in 2011, the European phase of the season is going to last until the second week of September.
It has been revealed that Kobayashi was asked whether he would like to move to Switzerland which is closer to his team’s headquarters. That is when the Sauber driver had to reveal that he currently has no home and is willing to find a new one soon.
“That would be nice, but I'm still thinking about where to live. I have no house, no home. I don't know where I should live. I have no base at the moment except for a big suitcase. At the moment I'm going from hotel to hotel. I'm always on the move anyway,”
said Kobayashi.
Nevertheless, Kamui claims that he is currently choosing which country he should live in but he is hoping to live in a country where the taxes are not so high.
“But now I need to ask myself a question - who do I pay tax to now?!” joked the Sauber driver.
Kobayashi is going pretty good this season as he has scored 19 points in just 6 races as a result of which he is in 10th place in the drivers’ standings.
Other than that, the Japanese driver has been delivering some pretty good results for the team during its testing process as well and since Kobayashi scored 5 point finishes in 6 races, his consistent results have been quite influencing on his new teammate
Sergio Perez as well.
The European phase of the season however is going to be very tough for the team and it would be interesting to see how both of the team’s drivers perform during this time.
