Sauber aim competitive result in 2012 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Sauber head of track engineering, Giampaolo Dall'Ara has said that they have planned to launch an essential update in their car in 2012 Singapore Grand Prix which will help in attaining competitive result.
Dall'Ara said the next race which is going to be held at Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore will be the most difficult one out of the remaining seven grands prix. Nevertheless, he said that their update package will be helpful in scoring reasonable points.
“Out of the seven upcoming races I expect [the Singapore Grand Prix] to be the most difficult for our C31,” Dall'Ara said. “But we will have our next aero update in Singapore, which should help to compensate for this and still put us in a position for a
strong race.”
Sergio Perez of the Swiss team performed incredibly well in the Italian GP and secured an amazing second podium finish after overtaking Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
Although, Perez has secured three podiums in the season so far and has impressed everyone with his amazing talent and skills, however, he has not been able to keep up the desired level of consistency as he has faced problems with his car in some races.
Nonetheless, the Hinwil based team is not feeling upset over their lack of consistency in the season until now and are positively looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming races so as to be able to secure a good position in this year’s championship.
Additionally, the Mexican’s driver teammate, Kamui Kobayashi has said that after achieving superb result in the previous race, they are feeling very confident about the upcoming races. He also said that he is earnestly waiting for his home race in Japan
where he will get support from his fans.
“After our great result in Monza, everybody in team is very motivated,” Kobayashi said. “Singapore is a truly special event. As night race it has established itself as real highlight. Personally I like the place. Also it's not too far from my home country,
and there are always a lot of Japanese fans.”
Over and above, it will be interesting to see how Sauber drivers perform in the approaching races.
